Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself,(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

-Song of Myself, 51 by Walt Whitman

My name is Camellia Jahanshahi (she/her)! I am an Iranian-American multidisciplinary artist, cook, and community worker living in Tio’Tia:Ke (known to settlers as Montréal). On this site you’ll find three different sides of me, out of how many? who knows! I am large, I contain multitudes. What I do know, is that these three things all take center stage in my life; art, food, community. Through each of them I learn about the others and find new ways to play and improve myself and my services through my explorations of colour, texture, and solidarity work.

I’ve been cooking and making art my whole life, and through food and art I’ve explored culture, joy, rest, political identity, and universal connections- a natural lead into community work and a rich lens for the wide array of workshops I’ve developed over the years.

With over 10 years of experience in the community sector, I find the most fulfillment in creating spaces of solidarity and joy, facilitating educational workshops, and supporting others in their work to uplift their communities. My ultimate goal is to encourage a sense of belonging and joy. Whether it’s through flavor, colour, texture, or the magic that is taking time for self growth.
